With the support from each party, The International Exhibition on Textile Industry (SHANGHAITEX 2006) closed with great success on July 8, 2006 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Pudong, Shanghai, PR China.

Owing to the growing market needs, SHANGHAITEX becomes an annual event starting from 2006. Having the generous support from worldwide buyers, manufacturers & associations, the exhibition has demonstrated impressive success and extreme appreciation was received from both buyers and exhibitors!

According to the statistical figures, the 4-day event has attracted 50,493 local & overseas visitors, among which 3,000 were overseas buyers coming from 45 countries & areas, including India, Pakistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey, Italy, Australia, Brazil, Bolivia, USA, Morocco, Argentina, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Taiwan Province, etc.

Among 50,000 professional visitors, nearly 60% are textile manufacturers and over 20% are importers, exporters, trading companies and agents. Around 65% visitors are in managerial and supervisory level, they come to SHANGHAITEX 2006 to view the latest textile machineries and equipments, to grasp the most advanced technologies, to purchase onsite exhibits and to prepare for future acquisition.

From the onsite visitor survey, nearly 90% visitors were well satisfied with the quality of exhibitors and exhibits. "SHANGHAITEX 2006 is absolutely an international exhibition, I can get the cutting edge technologies and products here. I am very interested in several 2006 latest machineries and I am now planning for the order", said V. Raghupathi from India. Virojin Sawatyanont from Thailand mentioned that "this is my first time to visit SHANGHAITEX, the exhibitors are the leading brands in market and it's a fruitful show for me. I will surely come again next year!"

Under the organizers' great effort in dealing with overseas and local trade media, textile associations and business travel agents, there have been 10 buyer groups crowded at SHANGHAITEX 2006. There were 5 delegations from India, and buyers from Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Changqia were also organized to visit SHANGHAITEX 2006. These include The Association of Thai Textile Bleaching Dyeing and Finishing Industries (Thailand), Knit Cloth Manufacturers Association (India), etc. They all revealed that SHANGHAITEX 2006 is a high-end exhibition with diversified exhibits which made them very impressive.

On the other hand, SHANGHAITEX 2006 is highly appreciated & recognized by more than 600 exhibitors from 18 countries and areas. They claimed that they have met quite many potential & sincere buyers at the show. Some of them have already reached consensus in co-operation. All exhibitors agree that SHANGHAITEX 2006 is a premier platform for them to display their latest products in order to attract real buyers from all over the world.

With the consummate closing of SHANGHAITEX 2006, the organizers have already started the preparation for SHANGHAITEX 2007. According to the organizers, SHANGHAITEX 2007 will be in larger scale with 100,000 sqm exhibiting area. It will be held on June 1 - 4, 2007 at Shanghai New International Expo Center, this should be another industrial focus by then.
