ShanghaiTex 2007 Will Break Record High Exhibition Scale With 1400 Participating Companies From 20 Countries and Regions

The sponsors and organizers of the 13th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2007) announced at a recent pre-show business meeting and press conference that the show will take place on a record -breaking exhibition area of 120,000 square meters at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Pudong, Shanghai, PR China, from June 1-4, 2007.

This year, ShanghaiTex strives to be a highly professional, technology-oriented, service-minded, and high-value-added trading platform for textile enterprises from across the globe to launch new technologies and new products, enhance brand images, as well as explore new markets.

Up till March 31, more than 1,400 enterprises from over 20 countries and regions - including Austria, Brazil, Denmark, PR China, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan Province, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and so on - have confirmed or reserved their space at the show. Among them, some 900 are domestic Chinese companies from 23 provinces and cities nationwide, while foreign exhibitors amount to 500. Temporary exhibition halls are being arranged in order to satisfy the exhibiting needs of the enterprises.

ShanghaiTex 2007 will feature six highlights:

  • Exhibition scale is record high, reaching 120,000 square meters in total, which spans across nine indoor exhibition halls and several temporary halls.

  • For the convenience of professional visitors who come with different needs, it is the first time for ShanghaiTex to organize exhibitors by product category, but not by foreign or domestic origin, which was a practice in past years.

  • Matching with the development trends of the textile industry , new equipment and technologies in dyeing and finishing are given special emphasis, with 30% of the exhibits falling in this category .

  • Energy-saving, environmentally friendly new equipment and technologies will be another focus, as environmental protection and energy conservation are two areas of concern in China's macro economic adjustment measures.

  • In addition to the on-site scale of foreign exhibits, newly developed Chinese equipment and technology for export will also be an emphasis of the trade liaison services provided by ShanghaiTex.

  • ShanghaiTex 07 is striving to be not only more professional, but also more service-minded. A media centre, office for recognition of new/high technology achievement projects and enterprises, office for intellectual property rights protection, and trade liaison and other services, will be provided for exhibitors and visitors at the fairgrounds during the show period,

    ShanghaiTex being a reputable brand among textile machinery exhibitions worldwide, it is expected that more than 130,000 professional visitors from 60 plus countries and regions across the globe will be attracted to attend and have business negotiations. It will also be the focus of attention of more than 40 trade and mass media worldwide.

    2007 is a critical year to the Chinese textile industry's Eleventh Five-year Plan (2006-2010). It is the time when the industry seeks breakthroughs through in the development and commercialization of key technologies. At this stage, the Chinese textile industry strives for proprietary innovation, technological advancement and industry upgrade, and industrial transition from developed regions to their neighboring developing counterparts. ShanghaiTex 2007, in order to add professional values to its participants, will feature a number of conferences and exchanges the themes of : the applications of compact spinning technology; the applications of new spinning technologies and products; new weaving equipment, technologies and products; and new dyeing technologies and environmentally friendly chemicals, etc.

    Since its debut in 1984, ShanghaiTex has been held 12 successful editions. This year, the show is making another milestone, with its exhibition scale reaching 120,000 square meters, compared to 100,000 square meters in the most recent edition in 2005. ShanghaiTex is for sure one of Asia's most influential textile exhibitions and a professional, authoritative, and forward-looking business event widely recognized by the industry.
